Sunday, September 6th-Morning Service Have you been sincerely praying for the upcoming revival?Have you been searching yourself and asking God to search you and cleanse you? (Psalm 139:23-24) Has God revealed anything to you? Have you worked to fix that problem? Have you done your one good deed in secret for the month? God is waiting for us to purify ourselves through Him, so that He can fill us with the Holy Spirit in a MIGHTY and AWESOME way. Are you ready? Are you ready for REVIVAL? Let’s Pray.An older gentleman, frequently called on to pray at the church prayer meeting, always concluded his prayer with, “And now, Lord, clean all the cobwebs out of our lives.” The others knew what he meant—all the little unsightly words, thoughts and deeds that we let accumulate in our lives. Finally it got too much for one of the brethren who had heard that prayer many times. So on hearing it again, he jumped to his feet and shouted, “Don’t do it, Lord! Kill the spider!”
14 For the love of
Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all
died; Who are you living for this morning?
Do you spend your time focused on the temporary things of this world?
Or do you focus on the eternal things of God?
It is time that we STOPPED living for ourselves and START sincerely focusing on the things of God.
Christians we have wasted too much time and we have lost too much ground.
We have not been fighting the Good Fight!
Do you have the LOVE OF CHRIST in your heart?
Do you feel compelled to LIVE FOR HIM?
16 Therefore, from
now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known
Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Verse 16 in the NIV says this: So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.
Church we can’t look at people the way the world does.
The world just sees how much money someone has, or what kind of job they have.
We as Christians need to look the souls of those we meet.
We need to concern ourselves with seeking lost souls and winning them for Christ!
Tell them what God has done for you!
Tell them how Jesus came into your life and saved you from your sins!
Let’s get serious about this! Time is running out!
Souls are going to HELL as we speak!
All because we Christian have become too concerned about ourselves and this OLD WORLD!
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
When we have an encounter with the Almighty God of the Universe and accept Jesus into our lives WE BECOME A NEW CREATION!
Our old sinful selves die and we alive with the things of Christ!
We symbolize this with Baptism when we put to death our old ways of life and all things become new as we follow Jesus!
The Touch of the Master's Hand -Myra Brooks Welch
It was battered and scarred,
"What am I bid, good people", he cried, But, No,
The music ceased and the auctioneer "One thousand, one thousand, Do I hear two?"
The audience cheered,
And many a man with life out of tune
A mess of pottage, a glass of wine,
But the Master comes, 18 Now all things are
of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us
the ministry of reconciliation,
Reconciliation means “Bringing together” or “UNITY”.
Let’s Read these verses again with the word “UNITY”:
18 Now all
things are of God, who has UNITED
us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of UNITY,
We are to be ambassadors or REPRESENTATIVES for CHRIST.
When you go to work or the grocery store do you remember who you represent?
Are people able to look at your life and see Christ?
Do you still have cobwebs hanging around?
Is it time to KILL THE SPIDER?
Maybe this morning you feel like your life is tangled up in web after web that you have weaved over the years.
Listen to these next verses…
2 Corinthians 6 1
We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you
not to receive the grace of God in vain. Behold, now is the
accepted time; behold, now is the
day of salvation.
